FCI World Championship 2025
I. Introduction
The World Championship is a special event of the FCI, which is held annually. The aim of the competition is for young racing pigeons delegated by the National Federations to test their skills in a one loft race competition.
The goal of the FCI World Championship is to strengthen and promote the sport of racing pigeons all over the world, to increase the number of racing pigeon fanciers, to increase the number of member associations, and to raise the standards of international competition.
II. General conditions for the organization of the World Championship
- The FCI member association can apply for the organization of the FCI World Championship. The FCI prefers to have World Championships from year to year on a different continent, but it depends from the applications.
- The FCI Director Committee will decide, on the basis of the submitted application the place of the World Championship. The loft must meet the requirements as describe in the Regulations of FCI Grand Prix
- The FCI World Championship is organized by the host country.
- The following documents must be provided at the organizer: Pigeon health certificate, pedigree, identification card, invoice with the words "Non-commercial"
- The Organizer can use only the ETS system accepted by FCI. The list of approved ETS systems is on the FCI website.
- The organizing loft must have a veterinarian who will control the pigeons and be responsible for their good health.
- The organizer must have a website which have all important information. These information must be send to FCI also. The results of the three official classifications (Individual / Ace Pigeon / Classification by Countries) must be full published (all positions). In addition, in the pre-races and final, the additional arrivals at 25% must be included.
- Information on the current situation, training and competition results must be provided to the FCI and published on the website of the World Championship.
- The host country must indicate the training and competition plan in its application.
Suggested program:
a. Trainings: 2 x 5 km, 2 x 10 km, 1 x 20 km, 1 x 30 km, 1 x 50 km, 1 x 100 km In the training of 50 or more km. a list of arrivals must be published.
b. Pre-races: minimum 2 from 100 to 300km
- The final race
Recommended racing distance: minimum 400 km - maximum 550 km
The final race
When the weather is very bad, the F.C.I. controller can either reduce the distance to no less than 300 km or move the race to a better day.
In the final competition, the basketing of the pigeons must be supervised by one or two international controllers depending from the numbers of the pigeons.
The final competition must be an exclusive national and international event with the participation of pigeon fanciers, FCI leaders, local and national leaders, representatives of the national federations sending the pigeons (1-2 people) and members of the media.
The race ends when 25% of the basketed pigeons arrive.
If 25% of the pigeons do not arrive on the day of the race, the race will run until 8 pm the next day. ETS should be on until the race is closed.
The closing date for the Ace pigeon will be when the race is sure to end. So if the race closes at 8 pm the next day, for example, the Ace Pigeon will close at the same time.
For the calculation of the ace pigeons, 5 races must be taken into account:
4 preliminaries and the final race. The ace pigeon will be calculated as follow : the sum of the speed of the pigeon on the races that count for the ace pigeon championship
III. Conditions for participation in the World Championship:
- Only national federations, affiliated to FCI can take part: it is both an opportunity and a duty for them. / Absence from the World Championship may be hindered by medical and legal conditions. /
- How to send pigeons to the World Championship? Pigeons, between 30- 60 days old should be sent to the loft .
- All pigeons must wear an FCI national logo ring.
- It is the responsibility of each federation to bring the pigeons to the World Championship venue.
- The following documents must be provided: Pigeons' health certificate, pedigree, identification card, invoice marked "Non-commercial"
- Each federation needs to send a message and air waybill must be sent to the organizer before the shipment.
- A member federation can send 30 pigeons in the “ General” Category and 15 pigeons in “YOUTH” Category. The registration fee: 30 EUR / pigeon to be paid to the host country.
Youth World Championship
The conditions of the participating are same as for the “General” category
The federation must supply the following documents
- Certificate the age requirements: 14 – 25 years
- He / she need to be the valid member of the federation
- certificate from the federation, that this person has pigeons and participates on the competitions. The rules need to be same as the General category.
IV. Financial background of FCI World Championship
The total income is: 30 EUR/ pigeons in General category and the YOUTH Category
From this amount:
50% for the organizer 5% for FCI
45% for the prizes:
- 20 % for the individuals / 1-2-3/
- 20 % for the federations /1-2-3/
- 5% for ACE pigeon
Prizes:
Individual: 20 % of total income= 100 % for the individual prizes
1. place 50% for the pigeon fancier + Trophy + Diploma FCI
2. place 30% for the pigeon fancier + Trophy + Diploma FCI
3. place 20% for the pigeon fancier + Trophy + Diploma FCI 4.
Federations/ national teams/ 3 best pigeons from a nation on the final race/: 20 % of total income= 100 % for the national team prizes
1. place 50% for the federation + Trophy + Diploma FCI
2. place 30% for the federation + Trophy + Diploma FCI
3. place 20% for the federation+ Trophy + Diploma FCI
ACE pigeon: 5% of the total income for the pigeon fancier + Trophy + Diploma FCI
Classification
The FCI prizes will be awarded always on next Olympiad.
- Individual classification: 1., 2., 3. Trophy + Diploma FCI
- Country classification (prize average of 3 best pigeons from a nation on the final race): 1., 2., 3. Trophy + Diploma FCI
- Ace Pigeon Classification 1., 2., 3. Trophy + Diploma FCI
Each country which participate on the race will receive a Diploma FCI
Pigeon auction
1. All pigeons entered remain the property of the federation that organized the competition.
2. All pigeons returning from the final race will be sold, even if they arrive after the end of the race.
3. The pigeons will be auctioned no later than 2 months after the final race. The full income of the auction of the pigeons shall be divided as follows:
25% Pigeon breeder
25% FCI
50% Organizer
4. The sale of the pigeons of the Word Championship must be done professionally. A tender will be issued for the auction sites. For the auction of pigeons from World Championship the organizer together with FCI will ask offer from different auction companies.
5. If some or all pigeons representing a country simultaneously participate in another event in the One Loft Race (for example: FCI Grand Prix), the regulation of the World Championship will apply for the sale of the pigeons.
